To align its core values with national circular economy principles, Empacar embarked on a new journey of plastic recycling. In late 2022, Empacar launched the PET bottle recycling project to transform waste PETbottles into valuable resources. The installation and commissioning of the advanced PET recycling plant was successfully implemented, and it commenced operation earlier in 2024.
The Boretech PET washing line tailor-made to Empacar’s needs and the characteristics of the local bottle sources is capable of processing about 35 thousand tons of waste bottles per year. The high-quality flakes generated are super-clean, suitable for its bottle-to-bottle application.
