PET Bottle-to-Bottle Recycling Line in Nigeria

The large plastic packaging solutions company has purchased 2 complete PET bottle recycling lines from Boretech, including the whole plant design, installation, commissioning guidance and engineering service. Among them, the food-grade washing line in Sonnex Packing Nigeria Limited, with a processing capacity of 3 tons/hour, was recently installed and started up smoothly.

In the early stage of the project, we overcame the travel inconvenience caused by the epidemic. Boretech made a lot of preliminary preparations and established a good video communication channel to allow Sonnex to clearly and intuitively understand the advantages of Boretech's PET bottle recycling system. The successful project case demonstration, the professional sales engineers and the close cooperation of engineering and technical personnel increased customers' confidence in Boretech and promoted the smooth development of the project.

When designing the whole washing plant, Boretech took into account the characteristics of the local waste bottles in Nigeria, including the complexity of their sources, dirtiness, and high sediment content, and tailored a PET bottle recycling system for Sonnex. The optimal process design guarantees the quality of the flakes meets the final food contact application requirements.

While striving to design the best process for Sonnex, Boretech also tried every means to minimize the future operating costs for Sonnex. For example, we customized an inline water circulation system, which greatly extends the life cycle of the detergent necessary in the washing process and effectively reduces the consumption of detergent and production costs.

Sonnex’s plastic recycling plant was set up to recycle PET bottles, and the food-grade rPET chips produced，with the support of European pelletizing and SSP technology, are used in its packaging plant to fulfill its social responsibility and advance its sustainable development goals and the ambition to be the largest supplier of food-grade rPET chips in Nigeria, supplying the highest quality recycled PET to brand owners.
